Merry Christmas from Feministing: “Smash the Patriarchy,” “Mistletoe Not Misogyny” e-cards

December 28, 2014

And may all your Christmases be microaggression-free:

Feministing's 2014 holiday e-cards

As an added perk this December, you can give the gift of Feministing membership to a friend. Angélica Becerra has designed these beautiful feminist holiday e-cards for us, which we’ll email to your friend when you set up a membership in their name:

Membership is tax deductible. Feministing is honored to be fiscally sponsored by the Center for Sex & Culture, which strives to promote creativity, information, and healthy sexual knowledge.

BTW, here’s the Center for Sex & Culture website and 2015 calendar.

The Feb. 1 event, titled “How to Eat P—– Like a Champ,” sounds kind of, uh, misogynistic to me. Shouldn’t Feministing be taking a hammer to it instead of taking its money? Just asking.

“Mistletoe Not Misogyny” brings to mind all those delightful articles with titles like “Five reasons you should date a feminist”. Here’s snip from Reason #4 in one such:

    (4) We take control, in general.
I mean this in so many ways. Professionally, emotionally, sexually, personally, physically, and mentally. We are self-aware thinking beings who have the confidence to stand up and say “Let’s do it this way, instead!”…. We see what we want and take it.

Mmmm… makes me want to snuggle by the fireside.
