Milk is white and so are you: Social justice warriors decide that dairy products equal white supremacy

New white-supremacy symbol: a cow.

ABC reports:

According to PETA’s latest press release, cow’s milk is a symbol of white supremacy.

In a statement, the animal rights group links the dairy industry’s treatment of the cows to the concept of white supremacy….

PETA is trying to wake people up to the implications of choosing this white beverage and suggesting that they choose something else pronto,” the statement continues.

The release further claims that the dairy industry has “control over your mind.”

And it’s not just PETA making the connection between the white sheets of the Ku Klux Klan and the white liquid you make your kids drink on the theory that it’s good for them. Anti-dairy panic is sweeping through academia as well. The New York Times reports:

Nowhere on the agenda of the annual meeting of the American Society of Human Genetics, being held in San Diego this week, is a topic plaguing many of its members: the recurring appropriation of the field’s research in the name of white supremacy….

One slide [University of Chicago evolutionary biologist John] Novembre has folded into his recent talks depicts a group of white nationalists chugging milk at a 2017 gathering to draw attention to a genetic trait known to be more common in white people than others — the ability to digest lactose as adults. It also shows a social media post from an account called “Enter The Milk Zone” with a map lifted from a scientific journal article on the trait’s evolutionary history.

In most of the world, the article explains, the gene that allows for the digestion of lactose switches off after childhood. But with the arrival of the first cattle herders in Europe some 5,000 years ago, a chance mutation that left it turned on provided enough of a nutritional leg up that nearly all of those who survived eventually carried it. In the post, the link is accompanied by a snippet of hate speech urging individuals of African ancestry to leave America. “If you can’t drink milk,” it says in part, “you have to go back.”…

[T]he white nationalist infatuation with dairy also heightened Dr. Novembre’s concerns about how to handle new evolutionary studies that deal with behavioral traits, such as how long people stay in school.

As Mic put it succinctly in 2017:

Milk, the longtime staple for growing children, is now the new, creamy symbol of white racial purity in President Donald Trump’s America.

Apparently the anti-milk alarm bell among SJWs first went off, according to Mic, in February 2017, when a couple dozen neo-Nazis (or something) staged a lactose-tolerant shirtless dance on the sidewalk outside an anti-Trump art installation at the Museum of the Visual Image in New York City:

Amid all the tattoos of Third Reich iconography bouncing around, one thing stood out: The neo-Nazis were all drinking milk. They spat it out as they danced, letting it dribble down their chins.

You can catch all the dancing, spitting, and dribbling by some guys who look like rejected extras from Fight Club (a quart of whole milk contains 600 calories) on this YouTube video.

Well–milk is white, and so are you, Whitey! I’m waiting for Antifa to start blocking entrances to Ben & Jerry’s. Because it’s Donald Trump’s America, and you know what goes into ice cream….
